On the Side of the Angels by KaytlynES On the Side of the Angels by KaytlynES
Sappy title, I know. But it's my third charcoal in like 30 hours. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BENEDICT!

Charcoal, 9x12, two-ish hours.

You know what, you inspired me to try out my charcoal for the first time. It's really fun. How long did this take you? Do you ever use any other medium with charcoal? Thanks!

This picture took me about two hours: half an hour to draw the sketch underneath, then only an hour and a half of actual charcoaling. But that's really fast for me; I've just dran him a lot. :) I love charcoal the most. I have tried other mediums, and nothing clicked for me the way charcoal did. I used to use watercolour pencils but I am so out of practice. Recently I've been painting with nail polish, but charcoaling is my favourite. I am glad you like it! It is so easy to use and very forgiving and you can make progress quickly. :) Have fun and keep at it!

Thanks for the info. I know what you mean about forgiving, you can just go over and over it if you keep making mistakes. Also, my art class this year is charcoal, so i don't really have a choice about keeping at it, but i would anyway. Thanks again
